Prof. E Carvalho, member of our Supervisory Board will coordinate the first nationwide study on Type 2 diabetes in Guinea Bissau

Nowadays, it is unknown how many people in Guinea-Bissau suffer from type 2 diabetes.  Diagnosing and treating this disease in a better way is one of the objectives of a project coordinated by Prof. E. Carvalho funded by the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes with one hundred thousand euros.  The other key objective of the project is trying to see whether the tuberculosis vaccine (i.e. the BCG) has the same protective effect against type 2 diabetes or not.
