CIBERSAM consists of 24 clinical, preclinical and translational Spanish Research Groups. It aims to better understand the ethio-pathophysiology of mental disorders, improving mental health and treatments. CIBERSAM has a translational approach and seek to unite and generate maximum research talent in groups who carry out their research work in hospitals, research centres and universities. CIBERSAM works to prevent mental disorders and to improve the quality of life of patients, getting benefit from what all those stakeholders have to offer and strengthen synergy and cooperation.

International collaboration is essential for CIBERSAM. For ITN-treatment, it will be in charge of recruiting newly diagnosed schizophrenic patients, provide samples and follow up of the patient drug responses. It will also collaborate in hosting of Secondments.
