Assel Sanserbayeba
I have completed my bachelor degree at University College London, majoring in Pharmacology.
The title of my project was “Downregulation of SK2 channel expression in HEK293 cells with
shRNA construct”. The project was conducted in the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and
Pharmacology at UCL. After that I have won DAAD scholarship and had an opportunity to complete my MSc in Molecular Medicine studies at Charite Universitaetsmedizin in Berlin, Germany. There I have completed three lab rotations in different fields, working on the effects of thyroid hormones on trace elements
status, effects of estrogen receptors on cardiac fibrisis-associated microRNA in cardiac fibroblasts.
My MSc thesis was conducted at German Rheumatism Research Centre where I worked on the role of NKG2D receptor in Th17 lymphocytes. In my free time, I learn foreign languages, swim, and attend salsa classes.
